Kostas Katseas built the Combrig 1:350 scale HMS Kent in a dishevelled condition. She is certainly in no
condition to pass in review. Nonetheless, she was in a similar weather-beaten condition at her greatest moment at
the Battle of the Falklands. She had steam up as guard ship when von Spee appeared and was outside of the Port
Stanley harbor entrance.
Gneisenau thought she was trying to escape and steered towards her until hit by a
12-inch round from
Canopus. In the general chase Kent was magnificent. At her trials a decade earlier she could
only manage 22-knots but she exceeded 24-knots as she chased down the light cruiser
Nurnberg and sank her.
