There is a museum dedicated to John Paul Jones, founder of the United States Navy in the Arbigland Estate, just outside Kirkbean in Dumfries and Galloway,
Scotland. It's a small museum, few people visit it, but it has a model of the
Bonhomme Richard, a bust of John Paul Jones, and a rather good 20 minute
documentary on him. It also has a font, donated by servicemen and women who were here in Britain during the Second World War. The font was installed in a local
church, and transferred to the museum when the church closed. Sadly, the museum is poorly funded, and it might not open in 2019, but here are a few photographs
I took. One is of his birthplace, another a plaque on the wall of the cottage, a model of the
Bonhomme Richard, another unidentified model, and a bust of John Paul
Jones.

A bust of John Paul Jones;
The
Bonhomme Richard;
Unidentified ship Jones commanded around 1780 – sorry forgot to note the ship’s name and the precise date;
Plaque on the cottage where John Paul Jones was born;
The cottage itself.
