David Straub of New Mexico had this spectacular scratch-built replica of the USS Langley after her conversion from an aircraft carrier into a flying boat/seaplane tender at the 2019 US IPMS National Convention.. It is built in a huge 1:150 scale. Raw
stock materials were used in the construction. Basswood was used for the hull in bread and butter construction. The flight deck was stock plastic sheet. Many of the detailed parts are cast resin parts, cast from custom fabricated master molds. This
also applies to the aircraft parts.
