Here is the USS Texas BB-35 built by Martin Quinn from the Garden State. The kit is the Trumpeter 1:350 scale Texas and the build won 2nd Place Battleships 1:350 Scale at the 2019 US IPMS National Convention. If you are going to attend the
2020 US !PMS Nationals in San Marcos, Texas, you might want to compare Martin's wonderful build with the real deal berthed outside Houston. Having been aboard the
USS Texas and looking up at the tripod with the three level control top, so prevalent
with the ships at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, the
Texas is a really special experience compared to visiting more modern battleships. Martin built the kit basically out of the box but added Northstar 3D figures. Rigging was done with Infini and
Uschi line. He used Colourcoats paints to paint the
Texas in Measure 31a/Design 3b. At the request of his customer Martin substituted Pale Gray for Haze Gray. Weathering was done with oil paints. The sea base was made from insulation foam.
